Amy Morton
Owner / Operator
Amy Morton is a seasoned restaurateur, consultant and innovative veteran of the Chicago hospitality scene with over 30 years in the industry. A life spent in restaurants has instilled in her an inherent sense of hospitality and design, evident in dining rooms that feel less like eateries and more like homes.
Hospitality comes naturally to Amy, who grew up in the industry alongside her father, legendary restaurateur Arnie Morton of Morton's Steakhouses. Through her company, AMDP (Arnie Morton's Daughter's Place), she brings a chef-driven, deeply approachable sensibility to every concept she touches. Over the course of her career, she has owned and operated several critically acclaimed restaurants, including Found Kitchen & Social House (2012–2022); The Barn Steakhouse, now spanning two North Shore locations in Evanston (2016) and Highland Park (2026); 1898 Speakeasy (2026), the intimate cocktail hideaway adjoining The Barn Steakhouse Highland Park; and LeTour Kitchen & Bar (2022), along with university-based dining concepts in partnership with Compass International. She also consults under the AMDP banner, lending her expertise to operations ranging from Goose Island Brewery (Chicago, IL) to The Wife and the Somm (Los Angeles, CA).
At the core of Morton’s work is a deep commitment to using hospitality as a force for good. Her dedication to social and environmental impact is woven into her restaurants, where she creates opportunities for individuals from underserved communities and fosters pathways toward greater independence.
